World’s famous lifestyle magazine Elle capped off the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) with a spectacular grand finale featuring outfits designed by some of the most popular Australian designers like Colette Dinnigan, Josh Goot, Willow, Nicola Finetti and Zimmerman.

Attended by the country’s high-profile celebrities such as Sam Worthington, Jesinta Campbell, Jonathan Ward and Carla Zampatti, the event also marked the official launch of Elle magazine in Australia.

The final day of MBFWA opened with the New Generation show which showcased a range of latest creations by young emerging labels like Betty Tran, Faddoul, Jamie Ashkar and Tristan Melle.

Jedda Daisy-Culley and Caroline Sundt-Wels, the names behind the revamped clothing brand Desert Designs from the 1980s, showcased an indigenous art based collection at the event. Featuring street silhouettes, the ensembles of the line included leggings, drawstring pants and bodysuits.

New Zealand-based label Zambesi, by Elisabeth Findlay and Dayne Johnston, made a comeback on the runways of MBFWA after a two year hiatus. Based on swingy silhouettes and monochromatic tones, the men’s and women’s wear ranges were made of sheer taffeta, organza, cotton, lace and silk chiffon.

Spiked with graphic looks, the line’s womenswear collection featured long-line blazers, narrow dresses, thigh-length shorts and floor-length gowns with key-hole cuts. For menswear, the label showcased sheer shirts, dark denim dungarees and lurex socks.
