Forward thinking fashion designer Nicole Bridger opened the sixth edition of Canada’s bi-annual sustainable fashion showcase Eco Fashion Week (EFW) in Vancouver with her latest designs.

The award-winning Vancouver native, known for her expertise in draped fabrics and flowy silhouettes, presented her Spring/Summer 2013-14 collection titled BE at the event.

Other than Bridger’s presentation of eco-friendly sustainable fashion garments, the opening day of EFW also conducted a series of educative seminars related to the garment and textile industry issues, including manufacturing labour, textile production and textile waste.

Additionally, the speakers and decision makers at the seminars discussed about the measures that have been taken to make the industry more sustainable.

Running till April 24th, 2013, the ongoing edition of EFW, which has attracted around 2,000 international buyers, designers, stylists, photographers and media, will also showcase ethical fashion creations from labels like Bhana Design Company, Couture Therapy, Awaj Warmi, My Sister’s Closet and Mama Rawa.
