Scheduled to be held at Musée Christian Dior, Granville France, the event titled ‘Impressions Dior’ would feature a collection of more than seventy Impressionist-inspired dresses and famous artworks by major Impressionists, such as Monet, Degas, Renoir and Berthe Morisot.

Jointly curated by Florence Müller, fashion historian and Brigitte Richart and Christian Dior Museum, the exhibits include a yellow tulle Margot dress designed by John Galliano from the label’s 2005 Haute Couture collection.

Named after the 20th century English ballerina Dame Margot Fonteyn de Arias, the multicoloured wool-based outfit features painting like pastoral patterns sewn with raffia embroidery.

The exhibition also displays an embroidered, multi-hued tulle-and-silk bustier evening dress, designed by the brand’s current creative director Raf Simons, from the Dior’s Spring 2013 Haute Couture collection.
