Three evening runway shows over a period of three consecutive days were featured at the recently concluded first-ever edition of Palestinian Fashion Week.

With a primary aim to support the country’s economy and apparel industry, the event showcased international looks in formal, casual and sports clothing from a range of local designers and boutiques.

Held at the West Bank city of Ramallah, the soiree saw nearly thirty models, 20 females and 10 males, from cities like Bethlehem, Ramallah, Nablus, Jerusalem, San Juan de Acre, Haifa and Nazareth catwalking in stylish spring-summer designs.

Local boutique Divine Bridal’s Hadeel Abu Hmied presented a collection of ten exclusive dresses imported from the US and Spain at the event.

The three-day-long soiree also featured elaborate wedding dresses, strapless corsets, miniskirts, headdresses and classic bejewelled gowns in pastel colours with an occasional dash of passionate red, purple and fuchsia by other designers.

The event was jointly organized by Modelicious Agency, Palestinian lifestyle magazine Layalina and Haifa-based fashion photographer Wissam Rustom.
