The twelfth edition of Bogota’s Circulo de la Moda (Fashion Circle Bogotá), an annual event celebrating the works of Colombian designers, kicked off with a sensuous retro-inspired collection from the local brand Pepa Pombo.

Presented under the event’s theme Evolucion (Evolution), the label’s latest line Vintage Diva was designed under the aesthetic guidance of designer Monica Holguin. Meant specifically for the modern day cosmopolitan women, the multifunctional range featured pants and flowy lycra dresses in soft hues of lime green, caramel, orange, black and emerald.

Veteran Colombian designer Hernan Zajar showcased his vividly colourful Autumn/Winter 2013-14 line on the same day. Drawing inspiration from the indigenous prints and fabrics of his country, his designs included elegant and innovative silhouettes based on a bright palette of turquoise, fuchsia, orange, yellow and sparkling metallic glitter.

Ready-to-wear clothing brand VILLAGE, owned by designer Carolina Sepulveda, also presented its range titled INK on the opening day of the three-day-long event. The line included an array of suits and dresses featuring abstractly printed short stories.
