Local designers present latest lines at Jakarta Festival

A range of young and seasoned designers are showcasing their avant-garde collections at the ongoing tenth edition of Indonesian culture and fashion-based event Jakarta Fashion & Food Festival. 
 
The talented group of seven emerging Indonesian designers – Gede Yudi, Erdan, Salim Rashid, Rini Suwardy, Paula Meliana, Soko Wijanto, and Wira Krishna – featured their latest womenswear creations under the theme Synergy at the event, which is slated to run till May 26, 2013.
 
Nearly 10 IPMI designers, including Barli Asmara, Carmanita, Denny Wirawan, Didi Budiardjo, Era Soekamto, Kanaya Tabitha, Liliana Lim, Tri Handoko, Tuty Cholid and Yong Budisutisna, presented their tie-dye fabric and batik designs at the festival.
 
In addition to the designs presented by the experienced and the emerging ones, the event schedule also includes a special Muslim fashion show to be held in the coming days. Titled as Treasure of the Sea, the show will feature ensembles created by the likes of Alisa Listiawaty, Dian Pelangi, Jeny Tjahyawati and Lia Afif.
 
Celebrated annually since 2004, Jakarta Fashion & Food Festival celebrates Indonesia’s rich and diverse culture through an archipelago of fashion and food.
