A gala award evening consummated the final day of UK’s young designer showcase Graduate Fashion Week (GFW), which was attended by the likes of English design veteran Zandra Rhodes and London-based Greek fashion talent Mary Katrantzou.

Hosted by the famous designer Henry Holland and TV presenter Zara Martin, the award ceremony honoured several young fashion design students for their exemplary creations, showcased during the four-day-long event.

The coveted menswear title was handed out to Shauni Douglas and Olivia Creber, from the Edinburgh College of Art, for their highland heritage-meets-eastern silhouettes style collection.

Hannah Williams, a student from the University for the Creative Arts, Epsom, bagged the prestigious womenswear award. Earlier in the week, the young designer had also won the Innovation Award for her embossed and imprinted latex range.

Famous British journalist and fashion editor of the newly-christened International New York Times Suzy Menkes received GFW’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Graduate Fashion Week is the world’s leading event for fashion students. In collaboration with George it showcases the work of more than 1,000 graduates from some of the most influential UK and international universities.
