Nearly twelve up and coming fashion designers from over eight American cities are going to participate in the Emerging Designer Contest 2013, which will be held as part of the forthcoming Phoenix Fashion Week (PFW).

Designers belonging to cities like Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, St. Louis, Chicago and New York will be enrolled in PFW’s 4-month apparel boot camp, where they will be trained in several fashion business related aspects.

Other than strengthening their business skills, the program will also teach the participants on how to grow their brands and the winning contestant, which would be officially announced on the closing night of PFW, will be rewarded with a hefty sum of $ 10,000 as prize money.

In addition to the clothing presented by the young fashion talents, the fashion week would also feature ready-to-wear, couture, luxury, evening, resort, swim and sportswear lines from the Southwest’s established brands.

Entering its fifth year, Phoenix Fashion Week is an international event which aims to highlight the fashion industry of the US state of Arizona.
