Fashion trends in swimwear for forthcoming spring/summer 2014 were on display in Spain at the recently concluded Gran Canaria Moda Calida 2013 Swimwear Fashion Show at Expomeloneras, Canary Island, Spain.

Alida Dominguez presented a collection of bikinis and swimsuits with open back and a glut of gold and white.

Nuria Gonzalez Swimwear collection ‘White Mama’ was much about highlighting the feminine silhouette ideal in extra-elegant shades.

Antonio Sangoo’s collection titled ‘Don’t Stop’ featured bikinis and swimwear was predominantly in fuchsia and black shades. It was an effort to enliven a megacity of the future with wearers highlighting the play of shapes and volumes.

Collections of INO, Like a fish in water, Watababe and Banana Moon featured high quality designs with glut of fuchsia, particularly black and red.

The firm ‘Like a fish in water’ tried luring people with sensuous silk microbikinis fused with lightweight caftans, which added a sense of sophistication.

Banana Moon, in its collection inspired by California beaches, presented garments with ruffles and feminine cuts and flirty, cheerful prints like tropical fruits, stripes and flowers.

Aurelia Gil drew inspiration for his collection from Japanese culture to showcase apparel exuding style. The collections featuring colours, textures and expressionist paintings with Japanese prints, were a reinvention of the cuts with saturated tone and mixes of oriental prints.

Watababe’s collection was a genuine blend of style, femininity, sexy feelings embraced in bikinis with Brazilian cuts.

Carlos San Juan presented a sophisticated yet modern and bold collection deriving inspiration from natural elements and mineral amber marked by subtle prints with exotic birds.

For the second consecutive year, the show also hosted a parade of swimwear for children on the concluding day.

While Croissier allowed little ones to explore the tropical paradise collection that was funny, cheerful and with a strong tropical touch, Nuria Diaz Pavon’s collection incorporating a whole range of designs in varied colours, was inspired by a fun pirate ship.
