'Abrbandi - Ikats of Central Asia', an exhibition on Central Asian textile will be organized by Islamic Art Museum Malaysia (IAMM) from April 1, 2006 to July 1, 2006.

This exhibition is expected to be inaugurated by Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of Deputy Prime Minister, informed IAMM.

'Ikat' is a dye-resistant textile having the same qualities as batik, and the art of textile might have been developed in Western Central Asia during the 19th century, said Kate Fitz Gibbon, a United States specialist on Asian art.
