Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires will be hosting the BAFweek Spring/Summer 2013/2014 from August 6 to 9, 2013, and will have the best young designers from Argentina parading their creations on the catwalk.

BAFWeek is the most important event for the Argentine fashion industry as it brings together the most established brands in the fashion world and independent designers for launching of their new collections at the same platform.

This year’s S/S 2013/2014 will have 30 designers showcasing their creations of men’s and women’s apparel in an exclusive space, including accessories, bags and innerwear.

Winners of the ‘Semillero UBA-BAFweek Seed’, Marcelo Yarussi and the designer duo María Camila Maldonado & Josefina Saa will be showcasing their collections at the upcoming event.

The ‘Semillero UBA-BAFweek Seed’ is a category that allows students of fashion design from the University of Buenos Aires to participate in a competition, and get a chance to present their collections in BAFweek S/S 2013/2014 alongside established designers.

The contest allows young designers to present new and experimental designs and seeks to promote new talent to work towards providing content for the apparel industry.

In the earlier editions, the young designers surprised the jury with their innovative ideas and great enthusiasm and this time too they are expected to present some innovative ideas and designs.
