African designers present their best at AFWL 2013

The just concluded third edition of the African Fashion Week London (AFWL) saw some of Africa’s most talented fashion designers showcasing their creations on the runway.
 
The three-day event showcased works of about 100 designers and saw participation of over 100 exhibitors.
 
Africa’s finest labels Clisha, Sa4a Designs, Bello Designs, Adopted Culture, Mtofo Design, Zandy B Designs, Afrolucious Designs and LNK Designs presented their collections on day 1.
 
Abena Safoa Amoako Gyimah, of Sa4A Designs, represented Ghana by showcasing a set of 10 collections inspired by African culture, and took pride in sharing the work with the global audience and international media.
 
Nigerian designer label for women, House of Moofa, showcased its collection on the second day, which included trans-seasonal, timeless and functional pieces with bold, contemporary and edgy twists for women to wear during work as well as leisure time.
 
Alabi Couture, by Meg Alabi, showcased a 2-in-1 collection with combinations of Ankara, cotton, silk and chiffon, in daywear and evening wear, for men as well as women.
 
The third day witnessed display of collections by Yutees, Mademoiselle Aglaia, House of Farrah, Elegante by Tiannahstyling, and Ella and Gabby.
 
Zizi Cardow, the winner of the Designer of the Year award at Nigerian Fashion show, brought the curtains down on the event with a spectacular showcase of her latest collection.
