Fashionistas have always admired the feisty, extremely talented French fashion designer Coco Chanel for her pivotal role in liberating the conservative 19th century women from the painful tight-fit clutches of corsets.

To take that admiration a step ahead, the esteemed London College of Fashion is prepping up to organize an exhibition to honour the late design expert, who revolutionized the international fashion industry with her avant-garde creations.

Dedicated to the legendary founder of the Paris-based fashion house, the exhibit will include a mixed collection of Chanel-designed haute couture creations and a series of portraits, drawn by Chanel’s friend and celebrity portrait artist Marion Pike.

Curated by Pike’s daughter Jeffie, the event titled as ‘Coco Chanel: A New Portrait by Marion Pike, Paris 1967-71’, is scheduled to be organized from September 5 to November 16, 2013.
