Danish royalty dazzles at Copenhagen Fashion Week

Fashion, glamour and a touch of Danish royalty were witnessed at the recently concluded Copenhagen Fashion Week (CFW), which highlighted the forthcoming trends of Spring/Summer 2014 season.

Known for her eclectic sartorial tastes, Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark, was the prominent feature at the three-day-long Danish fashion revelry. The 41-year-old wife of Prince Frederik cut a pretty picture at the event in her stylishly chosen wardrobe pieces.

The first day of CFW saw a rebelliously young menswear collection created by the up and coming label Asger Juel Larsen. Titled as A Triple Distilled Dream, the line was inspired from the works of Swiss surrealist painter and sculptor H.R. Geiger.

Infused with bio-mechanic digital prints and paisley patterns, the range included jackets with soft fabric straps, sheer garments, men’s kaftans, tartans and punk and 90s style influenced bombers.

Staying true to her signature tribal aesthetics, designer Anne Sofie Madsen presented a novel monochromatic collection, accentuated with sportswear silhouettes and detailing. Mixed with strong shapes and forms, the futuristic line included leg warmers with knee pads, voluminous minidresses, baggy pants and parkas.
