Gujarat Emporium stages handicrafts exhibition

Gujarat Emporium organized a handicrafts exhibition under the auspices of Government of Gujarat on Sunday.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Municipal Chairman K P Raveendran and is scheduled to conclude on April 13.

K Arunachalam, Manager of Gujarat Emporium, informed that the exhibition was meant to promote handicraft craftsmen and handloom weavers.

The exhibition displays handicrafts and hand-printed items of Gujarat such as colourful dresses, gift items, leather bags, gloves, puppets and valuable Rajasthan jewellery made of precious and semi- precious stones.

White metal ornaments for women, studs and lockets made of stones of Jaipur are available at the exhibition stall.

Pictures and wood sculptures, black metal, white metal and brass also form part of the exhibition.

The exhibition promotes products of national award winners at low rates.

Government rebate of 20 percent on handlooms and 10 percent on handicrafts is applicable on items sold at exhibition stall.
