An exhibition, featuring the lavish costume sketches of Australia’s most popular musical performance King Kong, is on display at Melbourne Central, a major shopping centre, office and public transport hub in the city of Melbourne, Australia.

Scheduled to run till September 15, 2013, the event aims to highlight the creative process behind the elaborate costumes designed by Tony Award winning Australian costume designer Roger Kirk.

Other than the sketches, the exhibits will also include final costume photographs as well as behind-the-scene looks at the painstaking development and production process of the designs.

Titled as King Kong Costume Exhibition, the photographic display will be organized as part of the forthcoming nineteenth edition of Australian sartorial fest Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.

Australia’s musical version of King Kong, which tells the story of a giant fictional character, is currently celebrating its 100th public performance.
