BC Fashion Week took off on a bright note on April 4, and is scheduled to last till April 9, 2006.
This event has become an ultimate platform for upcoming designers to receive international recognition, as well as for consumers and other industry players to gain knowledge about the latest vogue and trend setting designs.
Opening day will begin with a festive program 'Not Fit For Print', that will showcase for the first time ever, images from Canadian fashion photographers at the Buschlen Mowatt Gallery.
Second day, however, will feature Fall/Winter coutures by designers like Mara Gottler that includes subtle yet striking feminine designs using various fabrics from wools and cashmeres to types of silks that give a luxurious feel.
Wednesday schedule also includes Shelley Klassen's, 'Blushing Designs' inspired by the femme fatal age using textured fabrics and historic, romantic colours adorned with Victorian lace and Edwardian styled lines.
Other leading names at this fashion week include Jason Matlo, Chloe Angus, DC Women and Rubina Adjum.
BC Fashion Week is organized twice each year at Vancouver, in Canada.
