Dominican Republic to host fashion event from Oct 21

Eyeing to present the talent of the Dominican designers to global audience, the Dominican Republic has been hosting Dominicana Moda event every year since 2006.
 
Now in its eighth year, the event – Dominicana Moda 2013 (DM13), would be held in the capital city of Santo Domingo from October 21-26, 2013.
 
The six-day event would show collections of several national as well as international designers including Nelson Tavares, Yndra Rodriguez, Miguel Genao, Wilson Alcequiez, Vanessa Sanchez and Vasquez Mayle, DM13 artistic director Socrates McKinner informed media during oficial kickoff party for the event.
 
Also on show would be a new kitchen linen line featured by leading chefs in the city and a range of children’s apparels.
 
The event would also feature the new 6th ‘Designer Collection’ brand by Sully Jumbo Bonnelly and first presentation of the ‘Cluster Chacabana’ sponsored by the CEI-RD.
 
In a short span of seven years, Dominicana Moda has earned recognition as the official Fashion Week of the Dominican Republic and has also become the fastest growing runway show in the Latin American region.
 
Realizing the importance of the event, the Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export), one of the co-organizers, is encouraging fashion designers of the region to participate in the event to expand their domestic as well as global vision and reach.
