New York-based label Nicholas K, from the talented sibling design duo Nicholas and Christopher Kunz, opened the hotly-anticipated bi-annual fashion soiree Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.

Inspired from the Native Americans, the brand’s latest Spring/Summer 2014 collection was a juxtaposition of urban and earthy looks, based on a palette of soft soothing tones.

Popular womenswear label BCBGMAXAZRIA, owned by designer Max Azria, featured a fresh breezy range, which included stylishly wrinkled tunic-style dresses, high-waisted pants and boxy crop tops in coastal hues like pale blush, sand and light blue.

Staying true to his preference for ladylike designs, the Japanese fashion talent Tadashi Shoji once again presented a pretty line titled Sweet Liberation, which featured lace, embroidery and feather decorated pastel dresses.

New York native Richard Chai showcased both men’s and women’s clothing in his catwalk show at the event. Replete with geometric shapes, the bold ensembles included knee-length, blue-windowpane coats and tie-front shorts.
