Basanta Crafts festival concludes

Basanta Crafts Festival was held at Pologround, Imphal for 10 days, to showcase and promote the crafts of the region.

It proved a boon to a doll maker as a scheme worth Rs3.85 lakh was entrusted to her to promote such craftsmanship.

The beneficiary, a handicapped doll maker Birla Devi was honored by Ministry of Textiles (Handicrafts) with the sanctioning of this scheme.

Women Carpet Making and Allied Crafts Co-operative Society organized this Craft Festival from March 27.

The Commissioner (Handicrafts) of the Union Ministry of Textile Development had sponsored the Crafts Festival having about 100 different stalls.

MLA I Hemochandra graced the curtain drawing as Chief Guest, MLA S Natum attended Functional President and State awardee Y Tampha as Guest of Honour.
