Project Runway kicks-off day two of New York Fashion Week

The second day of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York kicked off with the season 12 finale of the show ‘Project Runway’, which is hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum.
 
The remaining eight designers from the fashion reality show competition showcased their collections at the New York Fashion Week’s runway at the Lincoln center.
 
The day two progressed with designer Carmen Marc Volvo showcasing his scuba-inspired spring 2014 collection which included striped cocktail dresses, edgy ball gowns made from leather, lace and a fabric the designer called sport mesh which was also used for his swimsuits.
 
Rebecca Minkoff’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection included laser-cut leather skirts and jackets in bold yellow shades, t-shirts emblazoned with the quotes ‘Let’s go Mexico’, as well as short dresses with shiny floral patterns and embroidery in pastel green shades.
 
Designer Jason Wu, best known for designing First Lady Michelle Obama’s inaugural gowns, showcased his lingerie-inspired collection which included a black mermaid gown featuring a silky slip top, a frothy bias-cut dress, as well as corsets laced up with cropped utility jackets and well-cut trench coats, all in the color palette of soft mint, blush gold, navy blue and black.
 
Seven Argentine designers also got the opportunity to showcase their collections on the second day of the most anticipated fashion event of New York.
