For the first time in history, the city of Shenzhen, located in southern China’s Guangdong Province, has been represented exclusively at the ongoing New York Fashion Week

According to China Daily USA, a special delegation of 15 designers, belonging to the Chinese city which contributes a major share to the country’s total garment production, has recently featured exotic ranges at a pop-up installation as well as a catwalk show at the fashion week.

With an aim to enter the bustling American fashion industry, the Shenzhen-based labels like BBLLUUEE, Versino, Lizzy, Bennis, Guyan and Grace Deng showcased their exquisite creations at the city’s 450 Studio Gallery.

Other than the names that displayed their ensembles at the short-term sales space, the two popular fashion brands Denghao and Ellassay staged a runway presentation at New York City’s Lincoln Centre.

Shenzhen houses more than 3,000 garment companies with a total annual production output of nearly US$ 26.2 billion and export volumes worth US$ 10 billion.
