McNay Art Museum, the first-ever modern art museum of the US state of Texas, is currently hosting an exhibit celebrating the importance of costume design in stage productions.

Titled as ‘Onstage! Costume Design and the Theatre’, the event features a carefully chosen collection of exotic costumes sourced from the museum’s in-house Tobin Collection of Theatre Arts.

Curated by Jody Blake, the exhibit, with a theatrical backstage like setting, features the entire production process of stage costumes—right from sketches to the final outfit.

The ongoing exhibition is scheduled to run till January 5, 2014.

Housed in McNay Art Museum, Tobin Collection of Theatre Arts boats of an awe inspiring range of 10,000 objects, dated from 16th century to present times, collected from several European and American theatre companies.
