A talented mix of Haitian and international designers showcased their latest collections at the just concluded second edition of Haiti Fashion Week, which was held in Pétion-Ville, a suburban locality in the country’s capital city of Port-au-Prince.

Organized with the theme of Mod’ifions notre environnement’, which translates to ‘Let’s modify our environment’ in English, the three-day-long event highlighted variety of outfits ranging from beach attire and casualwear to cocktail and evening gowns.

Among the most outstanding pieces that were showcased at the soiree was a traditional Haitian dress made from light blue denim fabric by designer Harry Lafond and a silkscreen T-shirt with Creole messages scribbled all over it from Gregory Vorbe.

In addition to classic runway shows, the event also conducted forums on topics like fashion marketing strategies of the Caribbean region, production, training and Haitian textiles and fashion industry development.
