The ongoing events in the Miss World pageant, which is due to declare the final winner on September 28, 2013, have been showcasing an array of spectacular clothing designed by the 48 Indonesian designers, who have been assigned with the task of dressing the 131 contestants.

According to the Jakarta Post, the veteran fashion talent Chossy Latu has created an exceptional gold-and-white dress, made from south Sumatra’s famous Palembang songket woven fabric, for the Indonesian participant Vania Larissa. The beautiful princess-style ball gown features gorgeous sequined embroidery designs.

Anne Avantie, the event’s official designer for Miss Turkey Ruveyda Oksuz, has designed tulle, organdie and pineapple fabric mixed gown in rich copper hue. The modern evening wear ensemble is decorated with images of mountains.

Miss Japan Michiko Tanaka’s and Miss Korea Min-ji Park’s designer Hengky Kawilarang created two A-line evening gowns—one made from chiffon and tulle and the other with silk duchess, organza and tulle. Both the dresses have been finished with embroidered images of vivid Kalimantan carvings.

Designer Dwi Iskandar has used the signature batik prints of his hometown Tuban to create outfits for Miss Malta Donnha Borg and Miss Georgia Tamar Shedania. Replete with international looks, the maroon, brown and golden coloured shantung fabric made dresses have been adorned with heavy sequins.
