Traditional Thai fabrics once again hogged the spotlight in the recently concluded second season of textile design-based Thai television reality show ‘Tor Fah Pha Thai’, which translates to ‘Thai fabric weaving the dream’.

With the primary aim to raise awareness about classic Thai textiles and to make it more modern and wearable, the finale episode of the programme showcased a range of high-fashion creations, made from traditional fabrics, from the three finalists of the show.

Adirek Kamnoi, the 25-year-old contest winner, took inspiration from the ancient Thai architecture for creating his brightly coloured winning ensemble which was decorated with shiny ornaments.

Jointly organized with the Ministry of Culture and Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles, ‘Tor Fah Pha Thai’ is a platform to search and support new up and coming designers in Thailand’s fashion and design industry.
