550 exhibitors partake at Expo Pakistan 2013

The 8th Annual Expo Pakistan held at the Karachi Expo Center saw participation of around 550 exhibitors from different industries including textiles, apparel, and carpets, showcasing their products at the fair.
 
The four-day mega event, organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), was attended by nearly 1,000 buyers from 70 different countries who signed export deals and Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with various Pakistani traders.
 
The event opened with a fashion show where a total of eight Pakistani designers including Rizwan Beyg, Faiza Saimee, Tapu Zaveri, and Farnaz Mustafa showcased their collections.
 
According to TDAP, Pakistani producers of various goods, including textiles, secured export orders worth US$ 200 million during the first two days of the event.
 
Textile firms such as Dubai Textile City Group, Art India Textiles, UAE’s Renoka Textiles and Qasab Textiles, made deals with Pakistani textile exporters and have also placed sample orders for fabrics, curtains, bed-linen, carpets, bedwear and more.
 
In 2012, Expo Pakistan generated business worth US$ 518 million and around 70 MoUs were signed between various associations and traders from different countries. Last year’s expo was attended by over 600 buyers from 52 different countries.
 
The annually held Expo Pakistan is the largest trade fair in the country, where domestic as well as foreign exhibitors showcase their products including, textiles, apparel, handicrafts and more.
