The young, emerging and the notably experienced Fijian fashion talents showcased their avant-garde creations at the recently concluded five-day-long fest Fiji Fashion Week.

Lana Smith and Andrew Powell, the designers behind the Elegant Rebellion Collection which won the soiree’s Oceanic established designers award, featured a classic and sophisticated female wear line comprised of long flowing dresses, miniskirts and open back tops in tropical hues.

Winner of the 2013 Student Designer of the Year title, the Lelean Memorial School design team presented a tie-and-dye based line titled Teen Warrior at the event. Highlighting the alarming decrease in turtle strength, the range included outfits decorated with sea creatures made from frangipani and orchid flowers.

Apart from student and established designers, the event also hosted the Emerging Designers Show which featured an array of stylish men’s and women’s street wear, elegant evening attires and swim wear in bright bold shades from an exclusive mix of nearly 16 up and coming new designers.
