The International Development Centre Foundation (IDC Foundation) is organising a two–day National Conference on Energy Alternatives for Rural Sector at the India International Centre, New Delhi on 27-28 April, 2006.
The Conference has been planned to highlight the important issues connected with energy needs of rural sector.
It is well recognized that energy availability and its efficient management is crucial to economic development of rural sector.
The energy policy for the above needs to include various energy alternatives, viz; conventional hydro-electric and thermal energy resources and non-conventional renewable energy resources such as solar, wind, tidal.
All these energy systems need to be integrated for effective results.
The Conference will deliberate on the above issues with experts presenting state of the art on current technologies for energy sources for rural sector.
The newer technologies and their implementation will be discussed during the Conference.
The participants in the Conference would include consultants, equipment manufacturers, industry professionals, Government policy planners, personnel from academic and technical institutions, NGOs and R&D laboratories.
The IDC Foundation has successfully organized several activities in the past to focus attention on technical, managementand socio-economic issues.
