Bright shimmery bejewelled catwalk designs, created by several new and established Pakistani labels, dazzled the onlookers at the recently concluded third edition of Pakistani wedding fashion extravaganza PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week 2013.

Jointly organized by Pakistan Fashion Design Council (PFDC) and beauty care brand L’Oreal Paris, the event was opened by the Lahore-based couturier HSY with its latest gold and crimson hued heavily embellished bridal wear pieces and Jaipur paisley printed menswear ensembles.

Designer Deena Rehman featured her tissue fabric made wedding collection. Decorated with beehive patterns, jaal-work and Mughal art-inspired animal motifs, the line included two-tone sarees and angrakha tops in a glittery colour palette.

Fashion label Élan featured its traditional eastern royalty-inspired The Sultanate Collection at the event. Infusing elements from both classic and modern bridal styles, the jewelled toned range is made from net, lace, organza and a variety of other sheer fabrics. Enhanced with feminine cuts and shorter lengths, the line was embellished with pearls, sequins and gota.

Designer brand Nomi Ansari featured its latest collection Rang Mahal at the wedding fashion fest. The label’s bridal collection included an array of gorgeous long shirts, kameezes and frocks. The men’s range showcased sherwanis and kurtas in bright colours.

Designer duo Asifa & Nabeel displayed their new bridal dresses adorned with intricate embroidery, vivid motifs, and zari and dabka work at three-day-long fashion revelry, held in the second largest Pakistani city, Lahore.
