More than 30 national and international designers presented their highly innovative contemporary fashion collections at the just concluded Central American sartorial fair Fashion Week Panama 2013.

Colombian label Leal Daccarett, from the designer couple Francisco Leal and Karen Daccarett, featured a line of simple and elaborate dresses, made by local women artisans of the country.

Designer Vicente Castellon featured a perfectly balanced mix of style and comfort in his elegant 62 piece-range, made using cotton, linen and chiffon, inspired from Nicaragua.

The line, mainly comprised of dresses and pantsuits, was incorporated with key elements and symbols of the American country such as the blue colour of the national flag and motifs depicting the popular satirical drama El Güegüense.

In addition to shows by Castellon and Leal Daccarett, the three-day-long event also featured Spring/Summer 2014 collection titled Biomimicry from Spanish talent María Lafuente.

Other names like Dmitry Sholokhov (Belarus), Fatima Arrieta (Peru), Renata Lozano (Colombia) and Tom Van der Borght (Belgium) also presented their avant-garde ensembles at the event, which also hosted a fair that exhibited clothing from several manufacturers.
