DominicanaModa to show latest American & Caribbean fashion

Once again, the best of Latin American and Caribbean fashion will be showcased at the eighth edition of DominicanaModa 2013.
 
Scheduled to be held in Santo Domingo, the capital city of Dominican Republic, the event will feature men’s and women’s collections from 32 local designers. 
 
Names like Leonel Lirio, Jose Jhan, Luis Dominguez, Sissy Bermudez, Giannina Azar, Larissa Salcedo, Cinthia Avelino, Jacqueline Then, Karlos Nunez, Modesta Castillo, Jusef Sanchez, Jose Duran and Moses Quesada will feature their collections at the event. 
 
Also, catwalk parades from Camila Brands, Blue Country and emerging labels like Cosita Linda Nelson Tavares, Yndra Rodriguez, Keyther Estevez, Miguel Genao, Wilson Alcequiez, Vanessa Sanchez and Vasquez Mayle will form a part of the runway schedule.
 
Italian designer duo Maurizio Modica and Pierfrancesco Gigliotti will feature their fall and winter unisex collection, based on rich deeper tones of black and red at the event, which would be dedicated to the global hub of art and innovation, Italy, this year.
 
Due to take place from October 21 to 26, 2013, the proceeds earned from the six-day-long prestigious do will go to some 40 non-profit institutions, such as the Foundation Healthy Women which works for breast cancer prevention, engaged in several humanitarian causes. 
 
Speaking on the event, the artistic director Socrates McKinney, informed “Like every year DominicanaModa gateways will highlight the quality of Dominican fashion. Our best designers, models, technicians, stylists, makeup artists and hairdressers will join their talents to continue consolidating DominicanaModa as the most important event in the Caribbean and one of the first in Latin America.”
