Nearly 30 European and Asian designers showcased their latest collections at the just concluded Fide Fashion Week, an event that aims to establish Singapore as a global fashion hub.

The revelry highlighted a variety of fashion creations, ranging from men’s and women’s contemporary to ready-to-wear and haute couture collections, in its 11-day-long fashion-packed schedule.

Korean fashion talent Lie Sang Bong featured an extraordinary clean-lined Spring/Summer collection, infused with sportswear and street-wear like vibes, at the soiree. The chic wearable line featured dazzling black and white striped and floral print dresses as well as a string of gowns with rib-cage bodices.

Designer Sebastian Gunawan staged a very colour co-ordinated show at the event. Titled as Mod Muse, the romantic line was presented in three colour schemes, such as navy blue followed by glitzy gold and finally silver. Replete with shimmery sequins, iridescent fabrics and blingy details, the collection included mermaid gowns, ruffled skirts, strapless outfits and glamorous Hollywood-style dresses with translucent nude gauze back.

Japanese couturier Yumi Katsura drew inspiration from classic Japanese designs for her latest runway looks. With proper attention given to the detailing on each of the line’s outfits, the designer featured elegant black ball dresses, kimonos for both men and women, over the top headgears, Kimono-style wedding gowns and a white dress with a long Singapore Merlion embedded train.

In addition to the runway shows from the seasoned fashion names, Fide Fashion Week also highlighted designs from the five fashion competition winners of the Paris-based design institution Atelier Chardon Savard.
