China’s 25 leading fashion and news media are visiting Copenhagen Fashion Week for the biggest Chinese fashion event ever held in Europe. It is the first step in making Copenhagen the market place where China meets Europe.

The main news papers China Daily and China Post, and the world’s biggest news agency Xinhua News will report several times per day from the Fashion Week. Bloggers with more than 20 millions of followers will be attending too.

On the 28th of January, a Chinese New Year celebration has been brought together by Scandinavian leading companies like Carlsberg, Bestseller, Georg Jensen, Saxo Bank and the two fashion fairs CIFF and Gallery.

For a long time, Copenhagen Fashion Week has focused on the Chinese market that is far from the European structure. China has very few multi-brand stores, big focus on luxury super-brands or cheaper designers. Only together with a Chinese partner is it possible for the European brands to enter the Chinese billion people market.

A large group of Chinese investors will also attend the Copenhagen Fashion Week, looking for potential European brands that want to expand. The latest Scandinavian designers that have done it are J.Lindeberg just opening 50 stores and Bruuns Bazaar with new 32 stores.
