‘Treasures of the Hard Rock: 50 Years of Rock & Pop Fashion’, the travelling music memorabilia exhibit, celebrating the glorious years of rock and pop music, has arrived in Dubai.

Currently going on at the Hard Rock Café, located at Dubai Festival City, the event showcases some of the most incredible fashion garments worn by some of the most incredible musicians and artists of the last 50 years.

Scheduled to run through December 2, 2013, the exhibition offers an in-depth knowledge of the interdependent relationship shared between music and fashion.

The featured exhibits include a military-style jacket, worn by The Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger, during his band’s 1989-1990 Steel Wheels tour, and a bulky worn-out beige outerwear with fringed pockets, donned by Jagger’s band mate Ronnie Wood at the latter’s 50th birthday party in 1997.

Legendary American singer Johnny Cash’s subdued black blouse with a pair of pinstriped trousers and Elvis Presley’s outlandish lime green button-up shirt, gold belt and black pants ensemble are also a part of the musical exhibition.

The exhibits additionally feature recent items like Britney Spear’s pink waitress shirt-dress from You Drive Me Crazy music video, Lady Gaga’s structured black-and-white outfit from Vogue 2011 and Justin Timberlake’s Charlie Chaplin-like tuxedo suit from his hit song Gone’s video (2001 N Sync album).

Other than clothing, the Dubai event also showcases original letters and lyrics handwritten by the iconic musicians.

Before hitting Dubai, the exhibit has earlier travelled to cities like Berlin, Manchester, Glasgow, Barcelona, Madrid and Lisbon.
