Traditional & western wear reigns at Indian Bridal FW

From exotically traditional to contemporary western, the fourth day of ongoing wedding fashion extravaganza Indian Bridal Fashion Week has seen it all.

The globally recognized style gurus Ashima & Leena featured their opulently embellished yet exceedingly wearable bridalwear collection Aalap at the event. Adorned with colourful beads and floral embroidery, the glamorous line included intricately designed blouses, jackets, churidar pants and lehengas draped in South-Indian style.

Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, clad in a heavily embroidered pink and green silk lehenga teamed with a three-quarter sleeve blouse, walked as the showstopper at the design duo’s catwalk presentation.

Unlike Ashima & Leena’s conventional silhouettes, design duo Shantanu & Nikhil opted for westernised cuts in their latest wedding fashion collection. The designers sent their veiled models in asymmetrical black and beige coloured tops of varied lengths paired with long flowing skirts in contrasting orange hue.

The runway parade also saw Indian tennis star Sania Mirza in the show stopping ensemble, which included a gold and white one-shoulder floor grazing gown.

Designer couple Muzaffar and Meera Ali chose to showcase a very Indian style bridal wear collection, replete with lehengas, shararas and sarees, based in shades of gold, cream and black.
