The Vietnamese capital city of Hanoi is all set to host the 17th edition of the international apparel and textile fair, Vietnam Fashion Fair—2013 (VIFF) from December 19 to 25, at the Giang Vo Street Exhibition Center.

At a press conference organized to unveil the show dates, representatives from the Vietnam Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) and Vietnam Expo Center, who are organizing the event, revealed that the fair would have over 200 leading enterprises from the country operating in the textile and apparel sector, exhibiting their products.

Ong Hoang Ve Dung, deputy director of Vinatex, said the local garment industry of the country is capable of doing extremely well, especially in terms of exports and can improve the entire textile industry supply chain.

The event is organized with the objective of promoting the ‘Vietnamese use Vietnamese goods’ campaign as well as encourage domestic textile and apparel firms to increase their exports.

The six-day fair would also feature a fashion show wherein designers from the country would be participating to showcase their new collections. Young and upcoming designers from Vietnam would also be given an opportunity to showcase their creations in order to motivate them to pursue their career and build a strong brand image of themselves in the Vietnamese fashion industry.
