A sneak peek into the forever-changing world of wedding fashion through decades is in the offing at the forthcoming exhibit, due to take place at Oaklands Historic House Museum, Tennessee.

The exhibition titled ‘Wedding Dresses through the Decades’ is jointly organized by the museum and the Human Sciences Department of Middle Tennessee State University.

With a primary aim to focus on changes in fashion from different areas, eras and cultures, the display showcases an array of gorgeous bridal gowns, dating back to mid-18th century through present times, worn by both famous and ordinary Tennessee women.

Slated to be held from January 15 to February 5, 2014, the exhibit’s items include brocade and silk made historical dresses, 1940’s wartime bridal suits and several contemporary wedding fashion clothing and accessories.
