Berlin-based designer Hien Le opened the first day of German fashion extravaganza Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin with his latest Autumn/Winter 2014-15 collection.

Based on a palette of mostly muted colours such as wine, petrol blue, grey and nude, the simple yet stylish menswear and womenswear ensembles were made from wool, cashmere, leather and silk materials.

Lena Hoschek, the former Austrian assistant of English designer Vivienne Westwood, took inspiration from the classic cuts of 1940s and 50s for her latest catwalk presentation. The Styria-born young design talent created super feminine pieces in subdued shades of grey, black, metallic gold and bronze along with perky specks of bright orange and red.

The ensembles included one-shouldered gowns printed with shimmery silver flowers, nipped-at-waist knitted pencil skirts, curve-hugging sheaths, sequin-embellished swinging dresses and polka dotted lacy transparent blouses.

Couture label Kauffeld und Jahn, owned by designer duo Niklas Kauffeld and Matthias Jahn, presented a very bold and revealing range of modern bridal wear at the four-day-long event. Made using light see-through fabrics, the line featured flowing bridal gowns, flashy pink and black sequined dresses as well as mauve and pink coloured low-hemline pieces with sweeping trains.
