In Tilson Auditorium, Xpressions opened “Blazed the Runway” with a model fashion show which was enjoyable and entertaining, conveyed the President of the Group, Tyanna Jackson. It had initially started as a modeling troupe at ISU in 1985 by Mike Robinson.
The show included intermission acts from groups Flawless, Squad and an opening act from the rap group, Trendsettas.
Xpressions have tried to introduce a sense of fashion and diversity as a group and promote fun among students. The group has been working for this show since the beginning of the academic year and started to crack down at the beginning of the spring semester.
MC's shared a handful of announcements and jokes to keep the show alive and entertained while introducing the 8 Degrees of fashion throughout the show.
DJ King Midas kept students dancing and singing in their seats. Marcquita Tyler, a freshman Business management major and Spanish minor said, he felt it was classy for ladies and loved fashion and modeling. He also told that his favorite part of the show was the intermission and the squad performance.
Jackson said Xpressions will be taking a trip to Murray State University in Kentucky to perform for BET on April 29 2006, which was very important to them and would like to achieve maximum in the form of support and donations.
