Pakistan took part in 26th Federal Trade Fair for home textiles and garments held recently in Moscow.
This may well prove to further strengthen trade relations between the two countries, observed Mustafa Kamal Kazi, Ambassador of Pakistan in the Russian Federation.
Kazi was exchanging his views with Pakistani exporters on his visit to stalls at the exhibition.
He spoke about removing trade barriers between the two countries.
He also advised exporters to form a consortium for establishing a warehouse in Moscow.
Success of Federal Trade Fairs prompted Kazi to agree in principal, to provide subsidy at the September 2006 fair.
Pak-Russia Business Council of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Director and ITN Chief Executive Mohammad Farooq Afzal led the textile delegation.
About 30 countries from South East Asia, East Europe, Baltic and the CIS states participated in the fair that displayed varieties of home textile and garment products to promote economic ties at bilateral and regional levels.
He hoped that this would enable Pakistan to expand its business contacts with Russia and the Eastern Block states.
Kazi praised ITN's efforts at promoting textile products in Russia and the CIS markets.
