As soon as the international men’s fashion fest Paris Menswear Fashion Week wrapped up with its A/W collection showcases, another high-profile event Paris Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2014 kicked off in the French capital with a smouldering catwalk presentation by the Italian label Versace’s sub-label Atelier Versace on January 19, 2014.

Created under the guidance of the brand’s head Donatella Versace, the line displayed a sumptuous collection of bold revealing red carpet worthy gowns with heavy exotic embellishments.

The catwalk collection featured sculpted, draped and strategically contoured floor length silk jersey dresses, slashed semi-transparent gowns with plunging necklines, veiled short pieces, and Swarovski-encrusted curve hugging shimmering numbers.

Slated to run through January 24, 2014, the ongoing Paris Haute Couture week will also host shows from couturiers like Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Dior and Zuhair Murad.

Haute couture comes under an exclusive fashion design category, which specifically caters for the celebrities and rich socialites. These entirely bespoke garments are known for their high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail and high-end prices.
