Beijing, the capital city of China, has just hosted the second edition of its Peru fashion-centric showcase Peruvian Fashion Show, a unique event which features collections solely from the South American country’s designers.

Aimed to promote traditional Andean textile designs, the soiree serves as a platform to foster business relations among Peruvian designers and other fashion companies.

Names like Herny Vela, owner of Velavera label, and Trujillo Mirva, from brand Qaytu, highlighted collections made from luxurious fibres like alpaca wool, also known as the gold of the Andes, and pima cotton, named after the American Indian group Pima who first cultivated the plant in the U.S.

The soiree was jointly organized by the Embassy of Peru in China and the Committee on the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism.
