Ten fashion models and six acrobats, suspended from waist harnesses, walked on the world’s first-ever vertical catwalk at Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.

Held as part of the ongoing 19th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), the event showcased the models parading in an array of designer outfits from the UAE’s leading designer label store Etoile ‘La Boutique.

The parade featured creations from internationally-famous names like Ingie Paris, Christian Dior, Prabal Gurung, Alaia, Issa, Amanda Wakeley, Raoul, Collette Dinnigan, Safiyaa, Kotur and Elizabeth & James.

In addition to the clothing display by the models, the event also showcased a synchronised dance performance on the shimmering steel walls of the building from the acrobats, who were dressed in golden, shimmery body suits.

Established in 2005, the multi-brand concept Etoile ‘La boutique’ specializes in hot-off-the-catwalk dresses and other designer accessories.

Organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), the DSF will go on until February 2, 2014.
