Medieval tapestry and armour suit like detailing dominated American lifestyle brand Tory Burch’s opening show on the sixth day of ongoing Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York.

Based on a palette of grey, olive and red, the Fall/Winter 2014 collection featured pleated leather coats, chain embellished knit sweaters, foil-embossed leather tops, tapestry printed brocade skirts and decorative yet highly wearable silk dresses.

The independent UK-based fashion brand with global recognition, Jenny Packham, harked back to the glamorous era of 1970s for its latest catwalk presentation. Drawing inspiration from the famous yesteryear actress and socialite Bianca Jagger, the eponymous English designer showcased several effortless eveningwear pieces.

Based on a soft palate of caramel, blue and rose pink colours, the featured pieces included full-length feathered coats, crystal-embedded cashmere knits, wide-hemmed trousers, eggshell tuxedo jackets and long embellished gowns with plunging necklines.

The celebrity favourite fashion designer Naeem Khan featured yet another red-carpet worthy ready-to-wear line at the prestigious event. Inspired from the dark bold world of Cabaret dancers, the range showcased an array of stylish dresses and flirty frocks adorned with fringes, sequins, geometric honeycomb embroidery, animal prints and hand-dyed feathers.
