Small wonders can pour in big cash box

Michele Herbert, co-owner of Shimai Pottery and Gifts knows better how small wonders can pour in big cash box.

Michele has always noticed young girls playing with art and fashion accessories belonging to their moms.

As a result, Michele signed contract with local jewelry designer Carmen Sanchez to create a children's line, ranging from newborns to 12-year olds.

Sanchez's collections look like big girl jewelry but are made with less expensive materials, Herbert said.

There are various freshwater pearl necklaces and earrings in addition to glass bead pieces that remind the girls of flowers, butterflies and bugs.

Sanchez will showcase her new jewelry line for children at the Wearable Art Show fashion event.

The show will also provide platform for three other designers to display their collections of accessories like hats, belts and handbags – handcrafted couture pieces – for both daughters and mothers.
