The recently concluded Ottawa Fashion Week featured an array of exquisite Fall/Winter 2014 lines from several young and seasoned Canadian designers.

Design label Prophetik, from Jeff Garner, featured its latest Dreamer’s Cure clothing collection and a line of leather accessories on the opening day of the soiree. The standout pieces included metal embellished dresses, antique silk made outfits, Jodhpur pants and neoprene bustiers.

Fashion brand Zarucci’s young designer Nora Zabarah Pucci presented a sparkling red-carpet worthy line. Inspired from vines, flowers and bare winter trees, the range’s nude-lined dresses and separates were decorated with computer generated embroidery.

Ottawa-based designer duo James Nesbitt and Lorianne Hawdur, behind the popular womenswear label Bernice & Barclay, featured a very mature collection for strong and confident women of today. Based on lean, tight-fit silhouettes, the pieces included skinny brocade tuxedo pants, loose-knit cowl neck tops, poppy patterned dresses, gathered skirts and racer back separates in dark shades of black and grey.

Well-known Montreal designer Joseph Ribkoff featured a minimalistic line, replete with bright floral prints. Devoid of heavy embellishments, the slim cut collection showcased patterned formal dresses and day-to-evening ensembles with sexy black mesh backs on nude lining.
