Over 500 apparel brands and designers show at Indonesia FW

More than 500 clothing brands and designers showcased their latest creations at the just concluded Indonesia fashion Week 2014.
 
On the first day, the event that took place in the capital city of Jakarta, hosted the young designers’ competition Unlocking Potentials, which witnessed collections from 10 designers.  
 
The contestants like Adela Pomegranate, Emmy Ernesto, Audrey Aledya Chaerunnisa, Tifani Krismanawati, Joshua Maulana, Reizhard Fernando, Ivana Tanos, Albert Ferdy Sibarani and Saviria featured Indonesia-inspired rich ready-to-wear collections.
 
The opening day also staged a catwalk parade titled Universe Boonding showcasing latest designs from three local names, such as Ali Charisma, Votum and Mardiana Ika, as well as two foreign talents, including Steven Tach from Japan and Mahrouf Said of Morocco.
 
Designer Steven Tach displayed a collection of simple elegant formalwear which included pieces like buttoned blazers, round collared shirts, knee-length rain coats and long jackets in tones of black and white. 
 
Fashion label Votum highlighted an array of ultra-feminine ensembles like maxi dresses and sleeveless knee-grazing frocks with vibrant prints and cheerful colours.
 
The second day of the soiree hosted a seminar on Trend Forecasting 2015 and featured runway shows from Anggia Handmade, Aprilia Collections, Asyifa by Iesye, Errin Ugaru and Lia Soraya labels.
