Australia Fashion Week (AFW) is just a day away and Sydney is abuzz with prospective customers.

However, experts predict that the big bucks will probably come in from among Chinese retailers who have a lot of potential and have expressed keen interest in Australian fashion.

China is rapidly growing in every field and thus, is taking significant measures to become more competitive in the fashion world.

Jodi Pritchard, IMG Fashion Asia Pacific International Marketing Director, explains that Chinese retailers are attracted to Australian fashion because of the cheaper prices than in most European countries.

Austrade, Federal Government's export promotion agency, revealed that over 27 buyers from China arrived Wednesday morning for AFW.

Currently, China, especially the city of Shanghai, is considered hot spot for international fashions.

Leading luxury brands like Gucci, Chanel and Prada are rushing to set up outlets in China.
