Australia’s high-end multi-brand department store chain David Jones opened the Melbourne Fashion Festival (MFF) with its latest Autumn/Winter catwalk parade.

The show featured several exquisite collections from leading Australian designers like Camilla and Marc, Nicholas, Scanlan Theodore, Bassike, Bec and Bridge as well as Ginger and Smart.

Aussie fashion model Jessica Gomes, who also is the current ambassador of the Sydney-based retail giant, walked the ramp in various breathtaking ensembles such as a sheer long sleeve white dress with a plunging neckline from the house of Dion Lee and a cobalt dress with back cut outs from Bianca Spender.

The opening day parade also showcased ensembles like white lapelled fitted blazers, skinny leather pants, leopard print and fake fur detailed dresses and several other animal skin patterned numbers.

Scheduled to run through March 23, 2014, MFF will showcase collections from famous Aussie talents like Josh Goot, Alex Perry, Alice McCall and Trelise Cooper.

Founded in 1836, David Jones owns around 38 stores located in different Australian states and territories.
